Edit Categorical Scale – Labels with Multiple Levels

Select scale > Editor > Edit > Labels

Use to change tick and axis labels of a multiple-level categorical scale.

Note

For tick labels to display, Major Tick Labels must be checked on the Show tab. Additionally, if you choose to customize tick or axis labels by scale level, be sure that Tick Labels or Axis Label for the specific item is checked on the Show tab.

Tick Labels

Auto: Check to accept default labels. Uncheck to enter custom tick labels for the corresponding variable name or time scale.

Custom: (Only available if you uncheck Auto) Delete any existing text and type custom tick labels. Labels are assigned from left to right on the graph.

Note

When changing tick labels that are repeated across groups, only enter each label once. Minitab will assign the appropriate tick labels within each group.

Axis Label

Auto: Check to accept the default label. Uncheck to enter a custom axis label for the corresponding variable name or time scale.

Custom: (Only available if you uncheck Auto) Delete any existing text and type the custom axis label.

The tabs that appear depend on the active graph.
