Stat > Tables > Cross Tabulation and Chi-Square
Use to generate tables of counts and percents. You can also perform tests, such as the chi-square test for association, and choose your table layout.
Raw data (categorical variables)
Rows: Enter the columns containing the categories that define the rows of the table.
Columns: Enter up to two columns containing the categories that define the columns of the table.
Layers: Enter one or more columns containing categories. Minitab splits the data into separate tables (or layers) for each category or combination of categories.
Frequencies (optional): If you have frequency data, enter the column containing the frequencies.
Summarized data in a two-way table
Columns containing the table: Enter the columns containing the contingency table data. Delete or combine rows or columns with missing data before using this procedure.
Labels for the table (optional): Use these options to add labels to the display of your output.
Rows: (Optional) Enter a column that contains labels for the values of the row variable. The name of this column becomes the name of the row variable.
Columns: (Optional) Enter the name of the column variable.
Display
Counts: Check to display the total number of values in each cell.
Row percents: Check to display the percentage each cell represents of the total observations in the table row.
Column percents: Check to display the percentage each cell represents of the total observations in the table column.
Total percents: Check to display the percentage each cell represents of all the observations in the table.
