Right Censoring
Consistency of Sample with Value - Bonferroni Confidence Interval

Minitab also provides a Bonferroni confidence interval, associated with a chi-square test, to provide an interval of reasonable values for the parameter.

·    When the chi-square test is significant (when you reject it), the confidence intervals will not contain the specified value.

·    When the chi-square test is not significant (when you fail to reject it), then typically all confidence intervals will contain the value specified for the test.

Example Output

Bonferroni 95.0% (indiv 95.00%) Simultaneous CI

Shape parameter for

Variable  Lower  Estimate  Upper  ---+---------+---------+---------+---

NewCord   2.562     4.426  7.647  (------------*--------------------)

                                  ---+---------+---------+---------+---

                                   3.0       4.5       6.0       7.5

Interpretation

For the iron cord data, reasonable values for the shape parameter of new iron cords are between 2.562 and 7.647. Notice that the interval does not contain 2.5 because the hypothesis test was rejected.
