Two-Sample Equivalence TestMethod |
The method table shows the details of the analysis, such as which sample is the test sample and which is the reference sample, and whether equal variances were assumed for the test. If you test the difference between the means and specify the limits as a proportion of the reference mean, then Minitab also shows the calculations for the equivalence interval.
Example Output |
Method
Test mean = mean of Discount Reference mean = mean of Original Equal variances were not assumed for the analysis. |
Interpretation |
For the cat food analysis, the test sample is Discount, and the reference sample is Original.
By default, Minitab does not assume that the variances of the two populations are equal. If you are confident that the variances are equal, then check Assume equal variances in the Options subdialog box.
