Gage R&R Study (Expanded)Graphs - Measurements by a Single Factor - By Part |
A plot of measurements by a single factor shows all of the measurements that were taken in the study, arranged by one factor. This graph helps you visualize the differences between factor levels. Gage studies traditionally arrange measurements by part and by operator. However, Gage R&R Study (Expanded) allows you to graph other factors.
In the graph, dots represent the measurements and circle-cross symbols represent the means. The blue line connects the average measurements for each factor level.
Below, the By Part graph shows all of the measurements that were taken in the study, arranged by part. Go to the next topic to view the By Operator graph.

Minitab displays a boxplot if there are more than 9 observations per level. |

For the refraction data, the measurements of all parts vary noticeably. This variability may be due to the inaccuracy of the measurement system (Repeatability). The averages also vary noticeably. This should occur because the parts that were chosen for the study should represent the entire range of possible parts.
