The individual value plot illustrates the following properties of the data for each level of the factor:

·    Dispersion. Each dot represents a value observed in the sample.

·    Means. The blue symbol on each plot represents the mean of the sample.

Interpretation

The individual value plots of the paint hardness data shows the following:

·    The hardness values for Blend 4 were generally highest.

·    The data for the four levels all have about the same spread (dispersion).

·    There are no points that are unusually larger or smaller than the rest (outliers).
